GOP Needs Help
The NRA said in 2000 that the McCain-Feingold anti free speech law was bad. They said that John McCain was an enemy of both the 1st and 2nd Amendments. No one listened, except for NRA members of course.
The Republicans backed it, George Bush signed it into law.
Now eight years later and with the Republican party licking their wounds from such a botched candidacy, they want McCain-Feingold gone. They liked it when they were protecting their incumbents but now that they don't have many incumbents left, they want it gone.
This, GOP is precisely what is wrong with your party. You have no principles, you have no platform and most of all you have few conservatives. You brought all of this on yourselves.
Have you learned nothing from Ohio, the RINO state? Let me spell that out for you: [R]epublican [I]n [N]ame [O]nly. For years you supported Taft, Montgomery, the DeWines and all their corrupt cronies and what happened? You lost control of the state to the Dems. For years DeWine voted in the Senate like Ted Kennedy but you did nothing. He was in your "club" after all. So what happened? DeWine lost the general election with Sherrod Brown receiving about 20% Republican votes. Why? Because that is the only way to get DeWine out of the Senate. Obviously you were not going to replace him in the primaries so we had to put a commie in there just to get Dewine out with the hopes of defeating Leftist Brown six years later. The really sad part is that after a couple of years of Brown in there, there really is little difference. Brown and DeWine both voted like Bolsheviks so who cares what funny little letter is beside their name?
GOP, I may be a naive hillbilly but here is all you need to do to win: Insist your candidates follow your own platform—not say they follow it when they decide to run for higher office, and just run conservatives. No one wants that middle of the road reach around nonsense. You want to beat the liberal? Just run a conservative, works every time.

Amen! I've been saying this, again and again, for over 8 years. Ever since the non-conservative "Dubya" was elected. I hope the GOP starts putting up Conservatives again. Like abstinence, it works every time it is tried.
