The Dagoba System

I have been building a new house for the last year.  I went into the crawlspace this weekend to finish up some drains and hang some lights.  Hanging from the very first floor joist when you go in was a 5 foot snake skin.  There were more spider egg sacks than in the movie Arachnophobia and there were mushrooms growing on the floor.  I had to battle Shelob just to hang a junction box.

I know JT has had similar experiences under the house but come on, I haven't even moved in yet and already my crawlspace looks like Yoda's hut.

I'm laughing not because of the snake skin, but because of the visual image I got of you crawling around under a house.

That was really funny. Crawl space? Do you live North?

Hope that the snake is a Rat Snake or a King snake. No rodent problems. If the Idea bothers you, Get Moth balls and toss a pound or so under there. It will drive them away. Repeat every few months. Depends on the Temp.

Here in coastal TX we have slabs. We don't have crawl spaces. They tend to collect water and Copperheads. I have killed over 200 since we moved in Jan, 2000. None since last year. Saw a Coral snake Monday Tho. Just chased it off the driveway. They are not aggressive and are not a threat unless you pick one up. (Dumb move)

We are on our 8th year of completing our place. I finally got 100 Amp service in a few weeks ago. We had been running on a 30 amp temp for all of these years. A new washer and dryer (Electric) forced the change.

BTW, come back and visit http://www.fauxnews.org/blog/

I contribute there when I am not doing other trivial stuff.

    Yoda's hut? That's fine.
Not long after you do finally get moved in, it will more closely resemble Jabba's lair.
