No Liberty Near Liberty Bell

One of the best-known relics of the American Revolution, The Liberty Bell, is on perpetual display in Philadelphia. Thousands of tourists go there each year to view the bell that has come to be a symbol of the defeat of tyranny and the celebration of liberty of individuals as well as of the several states.

Our Nation's founders and patriots risked their lives and fortunes in what amounted to treason in order to bring us this freedom we enjoy today.  A group of militia and calvary also risked their lives to protect the bell that was a symbol of their plight when Philadelphia was to be occupied.

Fortunately for all of the world, they were successful and we have our great nation, The Constitution and The Bill of Rights.  However, the guarantees enumerated in the Bill of Rights do not apply if visiting the Liberty Bell as Michael A. Marcavage found out in October.

Mr. Marcavage was arrested for exercising his 1st Amendment Rights and was found guilty this week by an obviously anti-freedom federal Judge named Arnold Rapoport. I'm sure if this judge were around at the time of the Revolution, he would have been a Tory.

The Liberty Bell is a symbol of freedom everywhere as long as you are in the proper sector. Free Speech cannot be exercised in public if you are out of the proper "Free Speech Zone".

I'm sure the fat Park Ranger and the goons that showed up to arrest this obviously dangerous criminal would be quite at home wearing Red Wool uniforms as their predecessors certainly did over 200 years ago.
