Farmers, craftsmen, merchants and others gathered together to stand before the world's greatest army. The King's men marched on Lexington and then Concord, not to collect tea or taxes or stamps or whatever the revisionists are teaching. Soldiers were sent against these men to collect their arms. Yes, the first shots of the American Revolution, fired on April 19, 1775, were fired over gun control. Gun control is as bad of an idea now as it was then.
