And I used to like this dipshit. I don't know why I am so surprised when he turns out to be just another piece of Euro-Trash.

Of course, his legislation doesn't apply to cops. Kind of hard to have a police state with an unarmed police.

The big stuff just brushed us on its way northeast. Had some hail, but no damage or trees fallen-at least in my neighborhood.

I'm curious. Other than manufacturing costs, what's the gripe with implementing the "etching" process?

1. It is almost non-existent technology. One company has a patent on the idea and is working towards it.
2. It can be defeated with a simple file on the firing pin and/or barrel.
3. It will indeed add serious cost to a handgun putting a price on defending yourself.
4. Will not be used to stop crime--only used to solve a crime after the fact, maybe, if the criminal didn't steal the gun or alter it. Several New England states have been collecting spent cases for years and keeping a database. The cost of such non-productive record keeping is enormous.
5. Is just one more "infringement" on the 2nd amendment. Criminals don't obey the law, only law abiding citizens.
6. Cops are immune. Apparently such a fantastic crime stopping tool is too good for cops.
7. Arnold is supposed to be a Republican instead of a Kennedy.
