From an article in the MiamiHerald.com, the International Association of Chiefs of Police are climbing upon the corpse of a fallen policeman to push for a Hitler-Stalin style ban on assault weapons.

Of course, even though that a true assault weapon is already difficult to obtain and was not used in this crime does not stop them from classifying non-assault weapons as assault weapons because they "look alike". They also fail to ignore the fact that the criminal that gunned down the police officer did so with an illegally obtained firearm.

These types of measures never do anything to reduce crime because by definition, a "criminal" doesn't obey the law. The only other reasonable conclusion for these numbnuts wishing to introduce such legislation is that they are socialist, liberal, hippie communists or just plain dipshits.

It is a good thing that these International Chiefs are not real cops but just politicians.  I'm sure that most of them would wet themselves if they ever faced what a real cop faces every day on the street.
