Now Our Foot Print is Too Big

I am beginning to believe that science was invented to give academia tyes jobs that couldn't do anything else. Kinda like what psychology did for women.  Anyway, now they have decided man's "footprint" on the planet is too big-whatever that means.  You can read the whole article here.

Here are some parts I wondered about:

"Mankind’s ecological footprint is too big to be sustained.

Since 1961 it has more than tripled in size..."

Uh, so has the population.   I myself have more than tripled in size since 1961.

"Using United Nations projections of the worldwide growth of the human population and economies,..."

The United Nations. There's a reliable source.

"The world’s average footprint is calculated to be 2.2 hectares per capita but only 1.8 hectares of each person’s consumption can be regenerated by the planet each year."

This stat is just plain wrong. We have plenty of Hecteres. In fact, our Hectre ratio is growing.  Just drive down to any Home Depot and see how many Hectres are willing to come trim your bushes and cut your grass.

“Populations of species in terrestrial, marine and freshwater ecosystems have declined by more than 30 per cent since 1970, a rate that is unprecedented in human history. In the tropics the declines are even more dramatic, as natural resources are being intensively exploited for human use.”

Should we start wiping out humans to make room for more biodiversity?  This is typical of the save-the-planet weekend-enviros.  Bitch and bitch because someone buit a condo in a swamp but they offer no real solution.

Hey numbnuts, you are correct, the human population is growing and there is a finite amount of space.  You made your point. Now what? Logan's run?  Go chew up some more tax dollars on some study.

Why don't they just get all their little numbnut buddies together... sterilize their family memebers and then commit mass suicide. Then they won't have to worry about the overpopulatoin!
