This post is for Tony's Way Back Wednesday. These are the lunchboxes I had as a kid.
This one was my first. I used it from 1st through 3rd Grade. Not to date myself, but this was 1971-1973.
This one I got for 4th grade. That was my last one. 5th grade I was too "old" for a lunch box and instead used a brown bag.
Sweeeeet! GOD, I MISS THOSE PLAID AND SNOOPY LUNCHBOXES! Can’t it be 1974 again, just for a couple of days?????? A Friday and a Saturday, that’s all I ask! Friday is last day of school for the week. Hamburgers were always on Friday. And Sanford and Son. And Chico. And Rockford.
And Saturdays! Bugaloos! Sigmund! Scooby! Marshall Willandholly! Chiller theater! Sizzlean and popcorn at Grandma’s. Sigh.

Um, actually, yeah, you were that big. Not that I actually remember '74. I'm not old like some of you. I came later -my lunchboxes were PacMan and The Smurfs. And that plaid one isn't a lunchbox - it's a friggin' suitcase! No wonder you're such a fatass!

Those are great lunchboxes. Such great shape. Mine were rusty by the end of the year. Probably sold in a rummage.
Jason, don't forget Beretta and Starsky and Hutch on Wednesday nights!

Mine bit the scrap heap years ago, I stole these pics from eBay. I almost bid on them but then thought, "what am I going to do with two lunch boxes that are exactly like the ones I had as a kid?"

I had some of the same lunchboxes... oh wait, they were yours!
I also had a really cool rectangular Snoopy, I loved it so much I made mom buy me a new one when that one fell apart, so I had it for two school years!
then I had to get a plastic smurf one.... probably the same one JKL ended up wtih.
And OH... what I wouldnt give to watch "Kill Da Wabbit" or an entire Sat. morn of Krofts Superstars.... Sigmund, Far out Space Nuts, and that one Japanese one with the Giant Golden Robot who's little silver wife was about 4'0". And the creepy bad guys with big black cars and no faces...... Now there's just Sealab 2021, Harvey Birdman Attny at Law and Robot Chicken! I love Adult Swim!
