Happy Birthday America

Happy Fourth of July. Its been 230 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. And it has been 229 years since the first celebration.  On July 4th, 1777 Philadelphia (while still in the midst of a Revolution) organized a grand celebration that included artillery, parties and fireworks. Yes, I said fireworks. From the very first anniversary, fireworks have been an Independence day tradition. The Virginia Gazette reported that 13 rockets were launched on this first celebration. Yet there are those that would see fireworks banned on the fourth and any other day for that matter.

Banning fireworks on the fourth. That is even hard to type let alone hard to say without bile rising.  Yet there are those that don't mind saying it or even really doing it.  Most of these people are of course socialists.  There are a handful of those that are not—specifically firefighters that work in a drought area sometimes wish to ban the use of fireworks (mainly so they can stay home with their families and let off their own fireworks).

But most that wish to ban the use of fireworks on July 4th are leftist cretins. They believe that we should only attend a state organized show rather than have our own. How dare us not participate in the collective.  These leftists also suffer from jealousy. They live in some neighborhood with houses stacked on top of each other and do not have the room that those in rural communities have. These liberals usually also push for more stringent fines as they think that the current fines are not stiff enough. They are just so abhorred that people would break their silly rules with impudence and that law enforcement doesn't strive harder to stop offenders (after all, wouldn't it be better if cops stopped those who celebrate the birth of our nation rather than stop violent criminals?).

How is it these liberals idiots fail to grasp the concepts of our great nation. How is it that they continue to ignore the obvious.  Our nation was created by those that would engage in not simple civil disobedience but in actual open rebellion. The founding fathers were committed beyond a point of return. They had to prevail or die. While thousands of rural farmers and city laborers laid down their lives in creation of this great nation, the founding fathers risked far more than just their lives.  These leaders risked everything. These were wealthy landowners and property holders. When they penned their name on the Declaration they, in effect, swore out their own death sentence. If they did not prevail, they sacrificed not only their lives, but their families' fortunes and survival as well. Further, they were not making the decision to base their risk solely on their guts and determination to stand a line with a musket, they were rolling the dice on their ability to persuade a large percentage of their peers and countrymen to follow suit.  The fact that they were able to organize anything beyond a tea party among these free thinking farmers, laborers and ruffians that was America at the time is amazing in and of itself. If the world thinks Americans are difficult now, they ought to take a look at us 230 years ago!

Let the dumb ass liberals suggest their bans on celebrating our nation's independence.  When it comes right down to it, there are many many more Americans that are quite willing to risk a misdemeanor when celebrating those that risked everything.

God Bless America and let those rockets fly!
